To see the range of possibilities from an “artistic” point of view, we photographed our test scene over a +/-5 EV range and corrected the raw files with our retouching software to obtain a comparable exposure. So by equivalent definition, a 24×36 sensor remains superior, but the difference is quite marginal, except when we reach the highest values. While the ISO 102400 value is really not recommended in either case, it must be recognized that the R6 still does a lot better. Then the high values are more in favor of the Canon it’s quite noticeable at ISO 12,800 and 25,600, where the OM-1’s shots are way too smooth, while the R6’s have more information. It is especially from ISO 3200 that the R6 stands out a little more clearly. ![]() ![]() At first glance, the images may look a lot alike, although we’d give the EOS R6 a slight edge, but that’s still weak.
